Equine

The Vet Club provides an excellent service to our equine clients with knowledgeable enthusiastic vets and good facilities.

The club has trained an equine dentist and has excellent dental equipment with tungsten carbide bladed rasps, a power float and gag. With other facilities such as a portable x-ray unit and endoscope the Vet Club provides the expertise and facilities for all primary equine care.

Services we offer:

• Equine dentistry - we have state of the art dentistry equipment to allow us to do thorough mouth examinations, take down sharp teeth, remodel the dental arcade to allow easy movement of the mouth when eating and whilst ridden.
• Lameness - Thorough lameness examinations are able to be performed and there is space at the Rotorua clinic to perform joint and nerve desensitisation for accurate diagnosis of lameness problems. We also have the ability to radiograph on the spot.
• Radiography - we own a portable radiograph machine, enabling us to x-ray suspected fractures, arthritic joints, and any other problems.
• Colt castration.
• Trace element and selenium profiles and advice on supplementation.
• Extensive range of supplement and equine health products in the Rotorua clinic shop.
