Staff Profiles
- Dr Craig Kusabs(BVSc)

- Craig is the CEO of the Club and as such is the vital link between the staff and the Board of Directors. Since taking over as CEO he has been on a steep learning curve, but he has dealt with it well and the clinic is going from strength to strength. His 12 years of mixed animal experience have provided him with excellent surgical skills and enable him to sneak in a few consults and farm visits when things are busy to help out the other vets. He is the father of Kieran and Alec and his wife Mary often helps out in the Rotorua clinic reception.
- Dr Mark Anderson (BVSc, BSc)

- Mark joined the Vet Club in March 2008 taking up the position of Senior Large Animal Vet. He has over 11 years of mixed dairy veterinary experience having spent 6 years working in the 'Naki' (Hawera), 4 years locuming and seeing the world on his O.E and recently one year in Levin. His predominant interest is dairy cattle medicine, nutrition and reproduction especially herd based problems. When not in the clinic, Mark can be found honing his mountain biking skills in the redwood forest and is a keen multi-sporter having competed in the coast to coast and the southern traverse events. He is currently supporting his wife, Rachel in her triathlon training.
- Dr Michael Murphy (MVB)

- CEAD MILE FAILTE (Interpretation= A thousand hello's.)
- My name is Michael Murphy and I'm from County Cork in the South of Ireland. After qualifying from Dublin in 2004 I've been working in a mixed practice, predominantly dairy practice in North Yorkshire. I have come to New Zealand for the cows, the scenery and the wine although not necessarily in that order! I will be working as a large animal, mainly dairy vet, so I should get a chance to meet most people in the coming few months. I'm looking forward to exploring NZ with my girlfriend Alice over the coming 18mths. My main interest is anything sporting although I haven't picked my Tri-nations team yet! I also enjoy walking and playing squash.
- Dr Fraser Abernethy

- Fraser is a 2001 Massey graduate, who joined the practice in May 2008. Fraser has a broad range of production and companion animal experience and returned to NZ in November 2006 after 4 years practicing in the U.K. He has particular interest in sheep and beef production, parasitism management, and dairy / sheep/ beef reproductive management.
Fraser is married to Ruth and is kept busy in his spare time by his two year old daughter Mia. His other interests include arm chair sports critic and depleting Rotorua's trout population.
- Dr Michael Beavon (BVSc)

- Mike has been with the club since 2001 and props up the Reporoa clinic with his service to the farmers in that area. Mike has 20 years of dairy experience and a sound knowledge in the areas of Dairy Cattle nutrition and minerals and has achieved good results for clients with mastitis problems through his herd investigations.
Mikes current passion is his multisport that he participates in regularly around Taupo. He has a pretty mean swim and his run leg is coming along nicely but he needs a road bike if he wants to make life easier. Maybe they could let him use his horse instead?
- Dr Matt Blakey (BVSc)

- Matt joined the practice in June 2004 and quickly took over responsibility for the clinic newsletter, which became the "Moosletter" as well as the role of the clinics Deer vet. As well as Deer, Matt's main interest is in production animal medicine. Matt is an accomplished sailor having won both National and Asia Pacific titles in his Laser Class yacht. He is also an avid sportsman, both on the field and from the armchair.
